Albuquerque NM and the International Balloon Fiesta, destination for the Joint Southwest and Western Chapters 2015 Fall Meeting.
For ballooning fans worldwide, the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is a pilgrimage. There is something for everyone to enjoy . . . whimsical special shapes filled with equal parts of hot air and wonder, and Balloon Glows that create a magical night landscape for spectators to wander. Over 600 balloons from around the world participate.
Southwest and Western Chapters join together to host a joint fall meeting during this event. Hotels around the city and as far away as Santa Fe fill quickly, and many are sold out already.
Schedules for the CME activities permit attendees time to be on the balloon fields for the highlight events of the Fiesta:
- Morning Patrol and Ascension, one of the biggest events of the fiesta, where all participating balloons launch in two waves, filling the sky with hundreds of balloons at once and for an
- Evening Balloon Glow

Arrivals: Tuesday, 10/6 Registration and Opening Reception
WEDNESDAY 10/7 Depart Hyatt early AM for arrival at the field by 5:30 am for the Dawn Patrol, Morning Glow and Flight of the Nations Mass Ascension.
1:30 pm - Registration and CME Session
THURSDAY 10/8 8:30 am - Sign in and Morning CME Session
Afternoon departure from hotel to field including the evening Special Shape Glowdeo and AfterGlow Fireworks Show
FRIDAY 10/9 Depart Hyatt early AM for arrival at the field by 5:30 am for the Dawn Patrol, Morning Glow and Mass Ascension.
1:30 pm - Final CME Session at Hyatt Regency
Friday evening on the field includes the Night Magic Glow and AfterGlow Fireworks Show.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Hotel Reservations may be extended through the weekend when making your guestroom reservation. It is important to reserve at the earliest time possible, keeping in mind that rooms in the area sell out and may not be available (esp. weekend) if not made in advance.
FACTOID: Each year, the Balloon Field RV Park becomes the second largest city in New Mexico during the Balloon Fest!
