If you are a practicing or retired physician (MD or DO) or a medical student who is also a pilot, you should give serious consideration to joining the Flying Physicians Association as an Active member. Non-pilot physicians with an interest in aviation are also welcome as Associate Members. FPA is the world's premier organization of physician-pilots. We participate in a wide variety of educational, charitable and recreational activities involving medicine and aviation.
MISSION: FPA members are devoted to promoting aviation safety and education, cross-disciplinary medical education, charitable and public benefit activities that capitalize on their medical and aviation skills, and social activities involving like-minded physician-pilots.
EVENTS: FPA organizes regional chapter meetings in five U.S. regions each Spring and Fall, plus an annual national meeting each Summer. Meetings offer a unique combination of high-caliber creditable continuing medical education (CME) sessions, presentations by world-class aviation experts and officials, and a variety of outstanding recreational opportunities. The meetings typically take place at top-notch resort venues throughout the country.
HISTORY: FPA was founded in 1954, and has a long, proud history and a membership roster that reads like a Who's Who of medicine and aviation. Today the association's membership is comprised of physician pilots across the United States, as well as in Canada, England, Puerto Rico, Germany and the West Indies.
